I have had a busy few days away working. On Monday I met up with James from Luton to have a quick look at the wonderful Dunstable Priory. What a fabulous building steeped in history. Alas only a small part of the priory is left, basically the nave, which is now the main church.
It was great to meet James and walk around the inside of the church and learn some of of the fascinating past that surrounded the priory from a lovely lady who was a historian and teacher.
On Tuesday I was staying in a very posh hotel close to Oxford, the Four Pillars at Sandford on Thames. It was a lovely hotel again immersed in history with a fabulous old barn that was the bar. The food was alas far too expensive, so I took a jaunt along the river Thames and found a super pub where I could have my favourite dish – Ham, egg and chips!
