As you know I am not one for modern music. I occasionally do a music show with Nick Tann (http://isthisthingonpodcast.blogspot.com/) and well worth listening to I might add, but as a rule I stick to the 1960’s kitch music that I play in the background in the Vobes show or the TV themes that I adore so much. However, this album and this beautiful woman from San Francisco has somehow captured my heart and imagination and now I cannot stop playing the tracks non stop.
French 75 as the title hints is basically a French inspired collection of music, mostly upbeat numbers but with a couple of ballads thrown in for good measure. As I listen I cannot help but see visual pictures and would love to get Laura to fly over to France and shoot a music video with her. This is very out of character for me!
Laura tells me, yes I have been enjoying communication with this lovely singer via Twitter, that she is full production of her next album at this very minute and is currently slogging it out in the studios laying down the tracks. I for one can’t wait to here more of her music and look forward to the next album.
I do hope to get over to the USA next year and I plan to drop in and say hello! Want to know what the fuss is about? Check out here website and have a listen for yourselves! http://www.lauralarue.com
